Privacy Policy

Last updated July 11, 2026

This policy explains what the Tabentic web app (tabentic.com) and the Tabentic Connector Chrome extension do with your data. In short: Tabentic only touches the tabs you choose, nothing in a page is clicked or typed without your approval, we do not keep your page content on our servers, and we never sell your data.

What the extension accesses

The Tabentic Connector only responds to requests from the Tabentic web app. It does not run in the background on its own, and it does not track your browsing.

  • List of open tabs. When the app asks, the extension returns the title, URL and icon of your open tabs so you can see them in the workspace.
  • Page content of a tab you pick. When you choose a tab and press Read this page, the extension reads that tab's title, URL and visible text (up to 20,000 characters) and passes it to the app open in your browser.
  • Actions you approve. Clicking, typing into or scrolling a page only happens after you press Approve and see exactly what will run.
  • Extension storage. The extension saves only the time and website address the app last connected from, in Chrome's local extension storage on your device, so its popup can show whether you are connected.

The extension asks for access to all sites so it can read whichever tab you choose. It only reads a tab when you ask it to, and it only accepts messages from tabentic.com.

Where your data is stored

  • In your browser. Your run history, settings, chosen model, extension ID and, if you add one, your own Gemini API key are saved in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device until you clear them. We do not have accounts or a database of your data.
  • Not on our servers. Tabentic does not save the tab titles, URLs or page content you send to the AI.

Where your data is sent

Page content only leaves your browser when you run a task, and only for the tabs you attached to that task:

  • Using Tabentic's built-in AI. Your prompt and the attached tabs' title, URL and text are sent to our server at tabentic.com, which passes them straight to Google's Gemini API to get a reply and returns the reply to you. Our server does not keep a copy.
  • Using your own Gemini key. Your browser sends the prompt and tab content directly to Google's Gemini API with your key. It does not pass through our servers.

Google processes these requests under the Gemini API Terms and Google Privacy Policy. Our website also uses Vercel Analytics to count page visits. It does not use cookies and does not receive your tab data.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade your data.
  • We do not use your data for advertising or to build profiles.
  • We do not read tabs you have not chosen, and we do not keep your browsing history.
  • We do not use or transfer your data for purposes unrelated to running the tasks you ask for.

Tabentic's use of information from the Chrome extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your choices

  • Clear your history and settings at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
  • Remove your own API key in Settings.
  • Uninstall the extension from chrome://extensions to stop all tab access.
